Preflight security control

According to regulating documents when going through preflight security control a passenger must:

• Present his/her baggage, hand baggage, outer clothing, shoes, belts and other things to be screened
• Present these things for manual check on inspector’s request

In Pulkovo Airport you can also be checked by scanning, leaving your outer clothing and shoes on.

Passengers are not allowed to transport the following dangerous things and substances for security reason in baggage and hand baggage:

• fire-arms, gas spray gun, airgun, cold steel, and mechanic guns of all types;
• explosives, firing agents and things filled with them;
• compressed and liquefied gases;
• volatile flammable liquids;
• hard inflammables;
• poisonous and poisoning substances;
• caustics and corrosives;
• other danger substances, things and cargo which can be used to perform an unlawful interference act.

Passengers who have weapon with permissive documents, issued by law machinery of the Russian Federation giving the right to keep, bear and use weapon are obliged to present it in proper time to the employees of check service or the employees of the Line Department of home affairs in Pulkovo Airport at check points at the entrance to Pulkovo 1 and Pulkovo 2 terminals to adjust for holding during the flight.

Items that can be used as weapon to attack the crew or passengers (knives and scissors of any size, including manicure scissors, penknives and paperknives including other sharpened items; communal aerosol of any kind — hair sprays, deodorants and other aerosols; weapon imitations — toy guns, pistol-lighters and other) can only be transported in baggage.

If these items are found in hand baggage and it appears impossible to replace them into baggage, these items are removed from the flight.

The carrier can assume extra measures to provide aeronautic security. If a passenger refuses to fulfil norms and regulations of aeronautic security, this passenger is not admitted to the flight. All norms and requirements of aeronautical security are regulated by international standards and normative documents of the Russian Federation and aimed exclusively at prevention of unlawful interference and at saving people’s health and lives.
